A riot took place on the 23rd March at Weston-super-Mare, in connection with the Salvation Army.
A rival procession was got up, and marched forth under a banner inscribed with the words, “The Skeleton Army”.
Coming into the vicinity of the Salvationists a free fight ensued, in which the banners of the rival armies came to grief, and the band instruments were broken.
The Salvationists finally took refuge in their barracks, many on both sides having received injuries.
